What does a Forklift Operator do?

As a new Forklift Operator at Barrett Petfood, you can expect a dynamic and engaging work environment. Your daily routine will involve operating forklifts to move materials and products within the manufacturing facility, ensuring they reach the right locations efficiently and safely. You will be responsible for loading and unloading trucks, organizing inventory, and maintaining accurate records of stock levels.

Attention to detail is crucial, as you'll also monitor equipment for safety and functionality. Your expected schedule will be from 1 PM to 9:30 PM, Monday through Friday, allowing you to enjoy your mornings and evenings while contributing to a high-performance team. Day to Day Responsibilties

• Manage the day-to-day operation of the Meat room.
• Train staff in proper workflow and sanitation procedures
• Enter batch information into Plex Software and manage inventory on a daily basis to ensure product is in stock and accurately counted
• Mix ingredients together and grind blocks of meat into meat grinder
• Add oils as needed per customer specifications
• Receive in Trucks and enter inventory into computer
• Unload frozen meat pallets into freezer for storage using forklift
• Clean meat room equipment throughout the day and at the end of runs to ensure sanitation of equipment is up to standards
• Work with a team to ensure products are safely processed in a timely manner
