Job Description

Actalent Services is seeking a talented and detail-oriented CAD Technician to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for transforming sketches, engineering concepts, and verbal instructions into precise technical drawings using AutoCAD. Your work will play a critical role in supporting our engineering team by ensuring all drawings meet established standards and are accurate, complete, and ready for implementation. Key Responsibilities + Develop detailed technical drawings from sketches, engineering data, and verbal instructions using AutoCAD. + Ensure all CAD drawings comply with company standards and quality requirements. + Review and verify drawings for accuracy and completeness before submission to engineers. + Operate plotters and other equipment to produce final drawing sets. + Translate verbal and written information into clear, computer-generated designs. + Collaborate with multiple project engineers on a variety of civil and mechanical projects. + Maintain effective communication with team members and stakeholders throughout the design process. Required Skills & Qualifications + Strong understanding of engineering drawings and design principles. + Ability to interpret and work from construction drawings. + Proficiency in AutoCAD; experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D is highly preferred. + Familiarity with GIS software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word). + Solid mathematical skills for basic calculations. + Excellent communication and time management skills. + Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and meet deadlines. Preferred Experience + Minimum of 3 years of experience as a CAD Technician, with a focus on civil engineering drawings. + High school diploma or technical training in drafting or a related field. + Experience with 3D CAD drafting in civil or mechanical disciplines, with a preference for civil. + Quick learner with a strong aptitude for new technologies and processes. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $30.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
